Cantor Ella Gladstone Martin has a passion for healing and uplifting Jews of all ages through prayer. She was born in Jerusalem and raised in Toronto, Canada where she received her Bachelor of Music in jazz voice at the University of Toronto.
Cantor Ella was ordained by the Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in 2023.
During cantorial school, Cantor Ella served as Student Cantor at Shaaray Tefillah in Manhattan, North Country Reform Temple in Glen Cove, Long Island, and at Hebrew Congregation of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, and on the leadership team of the soup kitchen. She also served as Cantorial Soloist at City Shul in her home town of Toronto. She is delighted to serve as Assistant Cantor at Community Synagogue.
